We recommend that most gas barbecues get a clean plus service at least once every 12 months to ensure safety hygiene and functionality this may also be more often if the barbecue has a high level of usage and is not regularly maintained
Essentially all that is required is a quick scrape/brush of cleaning surfaces that apply a moist coat of oil, not olive oil this must be avoided due to low smoke point. occasionally and internal scrape and brush down of burners into the drip tray, then remove mess plus fat soak. It’s a good idea to replace fat soak every three months to reduce the risk of fat fires + vermin.
There are so many BBQ brands + types to cover. We have generic parts to cover most common problems with most barbecues. Webber barbecues have an excellent warranty and wwill have to be contacted directly to organise replacement parts.
In the worst case if it is found that it will not be possible or cost-effective to make your barbecue safe and functional we will not proceed or ask for any payment. Removal of the barbecue to the local refuge can be negotiated.
Ideally, the barbecue will be removed to a suitable location where a hot water pressure cleaner can be used and wastewater collected. Internal parts can be removed and cleaned inside the trailer with a waste water tank. If parts can't be moved then cleaning is restricted to a scrape or dry clean as gravity will take the mess downwards into the surrounds.
If it is a “Tea stain” rust it usually can be easily removed but if the rust has gotten into the metal it could leave a dark stain and probably indicates a low-grade stainless steel.
The cost of all jobs is time-based + parts and all jobs are different. Obviously, size, brand, level of usage and location all affect time - hence cost. A guesstimate will be offered based on detailed photos
Basically you usually get what you pay for but remember that it is hard to clean a BBQ that can't be moved/removed from its location. Thus large modular setups that look good are generally not the best to keep clean vitreous enamel and stainless steel barbecues are much better than cheaper painted steel found in hardware stores. It's much better to go to a dedicated barbecue specialist shop which will have quality barbecues that suit your requirements.
